The Mecklenburg State Theatre, the region's main theatre, holds its castle festival in June and July 2027. The programme includes »Klingendes Welterbe« (»Sounding World Heritage«), a concert by the theatre's orchestra, the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle, in the castle courtyard. No 2027 date has been announced yet. According to the Nordkurier newspaper, the 2026 concert took place on 18 July 2026 with music by regional composers and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4. The rest of the 2027 festival is mainly theatre, comedy and ballet.
