Is Arena di Verona worth it?

Verona's Valerio Catullo airport at Villafranca is about 10 km south-west of the city; a shuttle bus runs to Verona Porta Nuova station, and from there buses 11, 12, 13, 51 and 52 (evenings 90–98) stop at Piazza Bra in front of the Arena. If you fly into Venice or Milan instead, high-speed trains take about 1 hr 10 min from Venezia and 1 hr 20 min from Milano.
Shows often finish after midnight; the 1913 Aida, for example, runs about 3 hrs 40 min. The Arena recommends the Saba car parks (Parcheggio Arena at Via Bentegodi 8, Arsenale, Isolo and Polo Zanotto). Book online in advance and your space is guaranteed even when the car park is full. From Park Centro a free shuttle runs back after the show.
There is no compulsory dress code. In the stalls smart clothes are preferred, and men may not wear shorts, vests or flip-flops there.
