The 2027 programme has not been announced yet. As soon as Eutin Festival (Eutiner Festspiele) publishes its dates, they will appear here.
There is no programme yet for the lake stage in 2027. The former organisers cancelled the 2026 season in January 2026, and their company is being wound up. The town of Eutin then hired the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, a large music festival in northern Germany, to run the stage from 2027, initially for three years. The plan is 34 events a year, with concerts, guest performances and one fully staged production. Whether that will be an opera or a musical had not been decided as of May 2026. The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival runs from 3 July to 29 August 2027 and publishes its full programme on 25 February 2027. In summer 2026 the lake stage only hosted a few guest concerts in late August and no opera.

There are no tickets for the lake stage in 2027 yet. If performances are planned, they will most likely be sold by the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, which puts its first 2027 events on sale on 20 November 2026. The old Eutiner Festspiele website is now only used for refunds of 2026 tickets.

Is Eutin Festival (Eutiner Festspiele) worth it?
The Eutin Festival has staged opera in the open air by the lake since 1951 and calls itself one of the most important open-air music theatres in northern Germany, but the 2026 season was cancelled. From 2027 the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival takes over the lake stage, and an opera is possible but has not been announced. So only plan a trip to Eutin once the programme is published on 25 February 2027.

What should I know before an evening in Eutin?
Eutin is in eastern Holstein, between Lübeck and Kiel in northern Germany. Fly to Hamburg and take the train via Lübeck to Eutin station, or drive up the A1 motorway towards Lübeck. From the station you walk through the old town to the palace gardens by the lake.
