Is Sferisterio, Macerata (Macerata Opera Festival) worth it?

The Sferisterio is smaller and calmer than the Arena di Verona, so you are closer to the stage wherever you sit. The huge stage wall turns every production into a picture, and in 2027 the famous 'Traviata of the Mirrors' returns. On a budget, Yellow at 25 euros is enough; if you want to be close, choose Gold or Platinum.

Before you go

What should I know before an evening in Macerata?

If it rains

The festival never cancels a performance in advance. If it rains, the start can be delayed by up to 120 minutes. If the performance is cancelled before it begins, you get your money back or swap your ticket for a later performance of the same opera.
