Entry is free and there are no tickets to buy. You simply find a spot on a quay or a bridge. If you want to come by boat, you must register in advance; in 2026 registration ran from 1 April to 30 May.
You do not need a ticket. Only boat owners register in spring on the official website, and places are allocated after the deadline because space on the water is limited. Selling seats on boats is against the house rules.

Is Prinsengracht Concert worth it?
This concert is free and has a cheerful street-party atmosphere, with thousands of people on boats, on the quays and in the windows. World-class soloists play, and at the end everyone sings the song Aan de Amsterdamse grachten together. If you want quiet listening or need a seat, this is not for you, as the quays get crowded and most people stand.
Before you go
What should I know before an evening in Amsterdam?
The organisers have several bad-weather plans. In 2024 the regional broadcaster NH Nieuws reported that in rain, music is played only on the main stage. In rain and strong wind, no ensemble plays and only the solo stars of the evening perform. In 2024 the plan was for music to sound over the canal whatever the weather. Bring a rain jacket, as there is no shelter on the quays.
sourceThere is no entry gate, because the concert takes place along the city's quays. Stewards may still check your bag. If you want a good spot near the stage, arrive early.
The Prinsengracht is part of the canal ring that circles Amsterdam's old town. From the UK you can fly to Schiphol or take the Eurostar to Amsterdam Centraal, then walk through the old town from the central station. The nearest bus and tram stop, Westermarkt, was closed for roadworks in 2026, so allow extra time. The Dutch journey planner 9292 shows the best route.
The concert ends at 10.30 pm, when thousands of people leave at once. Stewards and police guide the crowd, so follow their directions. You can walk to Amsterdam Centraal through the old town, and it is worth checking your return train in the 9292 app beforehand.
The organisers name Q-Park Euro Parking at Marnixstraat 250 as the nearest car park. Parking in central Amsterdam is expensive and tight, so train or bike is the better choice.
On the same day there is a separate children's concert in the afternoon, the Kinderprinsengrachtconcert, played by young musicians. In 2026 it started at 3 pm. It is free too, and if you arrive early you may even get a chair.
You can bring your own food and drink, as nothing is sold on site. Barbecues, candles, sparklers and your own speakers are banned. Please take your rubbish home with you.
